With the new craze of electric vehicles hitting dealer showrooms at more rapid pace, another issue has been brought to the table: being able to properly recharge them. What if there was such a techonology, that soon our roadways would also serve as charging devices to keep you traveling in your EV? Scientists at utah State University are thinking just that, as EVs take nearly half a day to completely recharge & at the present time do not offer the traveling range of gas-powered vehicles.
The idea of the scientists is to install inductive charging mechanisms into our street & highways which would allow electricity to pass from the ground to the car wirelessly. Of course, the next obstacle would be completely reconstructing all of our roads just to make this happen. As with most things changing, there's also a timetable for adjustment. But you can't knock the innovation...
