Audi India registers 98.41 per cent sales increase in April

Audi India, a leading luxury car maker in the Indian market, has registered a sales jump of 98.41 per cent in the month of April 2011. The company managed to sell a total of 375 units of its cars during the month as compared to 189 units sold in the same month last year.

In the quarter ended in April 2011, the company registered a double fold increase in its sales. It managed to sell 1,986 units during January to April period as compared to 967 units sold in the same month a year ago period.
Commenting on the company’s performance during the month, Audi India Head Michael Perschke said, "Audi India's positive growth momentum is a result of our customer-centric approach, supplemented with the expansion of our dealer network and enhancement of our energetic product line."
At present, Audi is the third largest luxury car brand in the Indian market, following BMW and Mercedes at first and second positions, respectively. The company sells a range of its cars in India including luxury sedans like A4, A6, A7 and A8, and luxury sports utility vehicles (SUV) like Audi Q5, Q7.
