Could The U.S. See An El Camino Reincarnation?

With the swelling problem in our country in which is rising gas prices, could we see alternatives to full-size pick-ups & SUVs? Well, please do not blame me for getting your hope up, but word has it that GM's North American President Mark Reuss has hinted at a possibility that the Chevy El Camino could see its way back to our market in the form of the Holden Ute, which is based on the Holden Commodore.

Obviously, there are many hurdles to overcome, but "IF" this move were to happen, we wouldn't see the El Camino before 2014. The other issue is the GM recently launched a global chassis of the Chevy Colorado pickup, which brings up the debate of whether GM should keep the Colorado while also launching an El Camino, or dropping the Colorado in the U.S. & replace it with the El Camino. There's a lot to figure out, but this topic has definitely fueled many roundtable discussions.
